Amour Amour →

amouramourcoverRating: 4.5 Cups of Coffee

Goodreads’ Book Description:
“Every day,” he says lowly, “I hold a person’s life in my hands. The circus is based one-hundred percent off trust. I give it all to someone, and they give it all to me.”

The best aerial technique won’t land 21-year-old Thora James her dream role in Amour—a sexy new acrobatic show on the Vegas strip. Thora knows she’s out of her element the second she meets Amour’s leading performer. Confident, charming and devilishly captivating, 26-year-old Nikolai Kotova lives up to his nickname as the “God of Russia.”

When Thora unknowingly walks into the crosshairs of Nikolai’s after-show, her audition process begins way too soon. Unprofessional. That’s what Nik calls their “non-existent” relationship. It’s not like Thora can avoid him. For one, they may be partners in the future–acrobaticpartners, that is. But getting closer to Nik means diving deeper into sin city and into his dizzying world.

Thora wants to perform with him, but when someone like Nikolai attracts the spotlight wherever he goes—Thora fears that she’s destined to be just background to his spellbinding show.

Natasha’s Experience:
This right here is a good book. No, scratch that. This is a great book.

You know that feeling you get when you read and all of a sudden it’s not just a bunch of words on a page, but a movie playing out inside of your head? That’s what AMOUR AMOUR did for me.

Krista & Becca Ritchie are a power team. I’d like to pay rent and live inside their heads eventually, if that’s all right?

The attention to detail swept me off my feet and landed me directly in Las Vegas. Seriously, being able to describe an acrobatic show the way K & B did, giving the reader a front row view to a performance inside of our own heads completely blew my mind.

The connection that Thora James and Nikolai Kotova share is addicting to say the least. You become so enthralled by their interactions that you can’t wait to see what they will say or do next.

Nikolai was so patient and selfless when it came to training Thora. He was hard and demanding, but only for good reason.

“Why are you so patient with me?” I whisper.
“Because every part of me wants to take care of you.”

My favorite part about this intense love story wasn’t even just living through Thora’s eyes and falling completely in love with Nik—which did happen, I can attest to this. It was meeting all of the other secondary characters –Timo, Camila, John, Katya, Luka, etc. They transformed this story by adding their own bits and pieces of personality.

COVER REVEAL: Volition by Lily Paradis →

Heart eyes all over this cover.

Volition Amazon (1)
Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]

Back Cover Description:
You know that feeling in the pit of your stomach that stays with you, then tears you apart slowly at first, and all at once shreds every fiber of your being? It’s because you’re contradicting the universe. Everything lines up so perfectly that you couldn’t have imagined it to work out any better, but then you have to go and do everything humanly possible to ruin it because you can’t stand to have it go right? That’s what I did. I did it because there’s a darkness that surrounds me, and I think I want it there. My name is Tate McKenna, and my soul is blacker than my heart.

Excerpt #1:
Right now it’s not enough to have just a little bit of Hayden.
I want all of him.
I want to be engulfed by him.
I want him to set me on fire and burn me until I’m nothing but ashes.
And then I want him to set a flame to those ashes, because he’s the only one who can.

Excerpt #2:
I look up into the sky to see all of the drops falling on the ground before they make contact. I realize the drops have more in common with me than I think. We’re all just falling until we’re not falling, and we don’t really have a choice where we land.

Check out these mini-reviews:
“A read that will keep you on your toes until the very end. Genius!” – Makayla (The Book Life)

“This is a twisted tale… that you can relate to.” – Bryce (Novels to Song)

“Beautifully twisted…A novel that shocks and surprises, and is not your typical love story. A gripping read filled with complex characters, dark humor and lyrical writing that leaves you wanting more! Paradis produced a story that carried a lot of emotion that dealt with love, relationships, and the darkness that surrounds death and the mark it leaves on those who have escaped it.” – Ashley F. (Falling Down the Book Hole)

“The story was lined with black and drowned in glitter… Volition is one of those books that makes you reflect on life’s past, present, and future.” – Abbey (Books a la Mode)

“I could not put this beautiful and dark tale of Tate McKenna down! Be with her as she discovers the impact that free will, fate and the act of letting go can have on a person!” – Jaclyn (Living in a World of Book Quotes)

You Were Mine →

Goodreads’ Book Description:
From #1 “New York Times “bestselling author Abbi Glines comes a brand-new Rosemary Beach novel about Tripp Newark and his hidden romantic past with Bethy Lowry.

In the eyes of the wealthy playboys who frequent Kerrington Country Club in Rosemary Beach, Tripp Newark is a hero. Under pressure from his parents to become a lawyer and lead a conservative, upper-class life, Tripp disappeared from town five years ago to travel the world, forfeiting the opportunity to inherit millions. Yet few know what he was really running from…

Bethy Lowry was unraveling long before her boyfriend drowned in a riptide trying to save her after she’d had one too many drinks–again. A trailer park kid working as a cart girl among the wealthy patrons of Kerrington Country Club, Bethy has always been impressionable. But five years ago, before she earned her reputation as a hard-drinking, easy girl, she had spent a single summer with Tripp Newark that changed her life forever…

Natasha’s Experience:
YOU WERE MINE is a story of second-chance love, heartbreak, inspiring friendships and electric passion. Abbi Glines, the detail that you put into your stories is forever astonishing. How you manage to create such in-depth characters–not even just the main characters—never fails to leave me dazed and in awe.

Bethy’s character was hard for me to relate to. I get why she acted a certain way towards Tripp, but I felt that a lot could have been avoided if she would have just sat down for a second and talked it out. That being said, she did go through a really tough situation and I could see how much anguish she felt being near Tripp again. She wanted what was best for herself and she needed to protect her mind and soul at all costs. I felt so much for her; her life was a series of unfortunate events, until she met Tripp, but even that wasn’t all hearts and flowers.

Tripp was amazing. Seriously, I was amazed by his character development and his insane loyalty towards Bethy. He knew what he wanted when he was 18; he knew that he couldn’t possibly have everything at that age without being torn by his parents’ requests and his owns needs. When he comes back to Rosemary Beach, his intensity for Bethy is admirable. His need for her to be happy, even if that means living a life without him, never falters.

Together, these two share more than just history. Their chemistry is palpable and their love is anything but fictional. Find out exactly what goes on when a past love comes back to offer a potential future.

Title: Inside Out

Author: Lia Riley

Series: Off the Map #3

Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance

Publication: December 2nd, 2014

Goodreads’ Book Description:
When Talia first moved from California to Australia to study abroad, she never dreamed she’d find the love of her life. Bran understands her like no one ever has before. And despite the numerous challenges they’ve faced, they’ve always managed to figure out how to stay together. But this time they’ll face their toughest hurdle yet. Is their love strong enough to keep them together?

Natasha’s Experience:
1000x yes. This is exactly what I needed.

INSIDE OUT concludes the “Off the Map” series and I couldn’t be sadder to say goodbye to these two beautiful characters. My adorable favorites, Talia and Bran, have taken me on the ride of a lifetime and I’ve learned so much from them. It’s incredibly bittersweet finishing a series that you’re so invested in. That being said, INSIDE OUT was the perfect conclusion that I needed.

Lia Riley is the Queen of Dialogue. How she manages to create the most hilarious, fascinating conversations is completely beyond me. I live for Talia and Bran’s words.

I hate parting with these two. I feel like I’ve watched them grow up, find themselves, find each other and figure out how to navigate the world together.

Talia has to go through some tough situations in this book. Honestly, she’s pretty lost and has no idea what she wants to do with her life or where she wants to go, even with Bran by her side. However, she’s such a fighter without even realizing it. I love her modesty and humility.

Bran is still my main man. His character development is a wonder to have witnessed. He gets it. He grows up and becomes this absolute rock for Talia, grounding her when she feels flighty and supporting her when she’s not all put-together. I really love that guy.

The amount of revelations these two discover throughout the book had me feeling so inspired and happy for them, I’m pretty sure I was grinning like a lunatic the entire time. Woops.

Here are some lovely quotes that stuck out to me:

“This is a part of Bran’s voodoo. When he looks at me with those eyes, I feel it, beautiful on a cellular level.”
SAME, Talia, I’m 100% with you.

“Even though heights terrify me, I’m addicted to our edge-dancing. I’d rather be lost with him, than ever play it safe.”
*signs up to get lost with Bran whenever/wherever*

“No matter how much stupid shit I’ve done in my life, I’ve done something right to earn this girl. She makes me feel things I never knew I was capable of.”
God, Bran, why must you say these words and make me feel all swoon-y and alive?

“Sometimes happiness doesn’t require any words. Sometimes happiness just is.”

LIA. I love your words. You are a phenomenal writer.
Thank you for letting me experience this ride. It was brilliant and unforgettable and I miss these two already.

Definitely experience this series for yourself!

About Lia:

liaLia Riley writes offbeat New Adult Romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments. When not torturing heroes (because c’mon, who doesn’t love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about as-of-yet unwritten books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. She and her family live in Northern California.
