Goodreads’ Book Description:
It all started with a pinky swear…
Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and gunslinger handsome; a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to spare. He’s also one of Stephanie Robson’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as she’s known him.
Beautiful, funny and an ambitious businesswoman (with one hell of an ass), Stephanie Robson is one of Linden McGregor’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he’s known her.
But some relationships can’t be boxed, can’t be classified, can’t be tamed.
Back in their mid-twenties and tired of the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them are in a serious relationship by the time they hit thirty.
It sounds like fun and games but as the years to thirty tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact becomes larger than life.
Sex is inevitable. Friendships are tested. Hearts are on the line.
The pact is about to change everything.
Sweet, sexy and full of laughs, this book did it for me. It was the best kind of weekend read filled with love, angst, tested friendships, sassy women and one crazy promise between two best friends. I love Halle’s writing style because her words reel you in and leave you in a daze when it’s over. Let the book hangover commence!
Linden McGregor is all kinds of perfect. He’s rugged and funny and absolutely adores Steph, or Baby Blue *sigh*. Sign me up for a pact to marry that man any day of the week, I will pinky swear the hell out of it.
“If it’s wrong to occasionally ogle your best friend, I don’t want to be right.”
Steph Robson is fierce and not afraid to say what’s on her mind or go after what she wants. She is ambitious and truly inspirational. I love her attitude and I love that she isn’t a passive personality. She doesn’t let anyone walk all over her and she takes what she wants.
If you like edgy stories with intense connections and friends-to-lovers romances, pick this book up, ASAP. The Pact delivers an intriguing situation where being friends reaches a limit and falling in love with your best friend might be the best consequence.
